Blue-green algae AFA are rich in chlorophyll (the green pigment which is responsible for the transformation of light energy into chemical one) organisms on our planet.
Its structure is almost identical to haematin which is the core of hemoglobin – the molecule responsible for oxygen transport in blood. The anticancer properties of algae are due to chlorophyll as it neutralizes the toxicity of aflatoxin – the most significant hepatic carcinogen (it is produced by fungi found in corn, peanuts and other crops).
Blue-green algae are unique source of “molecule of love” – phenylethylamines (PEA).
PEA is synthesized in the brain from two amino acids phenylalanine and tyrosine. It is responsible for feelings linked with pleasure and mental sharpness, and lowers the pre-clinical symptoms of depression.
PEA adds in losing weight as well.
This is called anorexic effect in which hunger fully disappears and it happens because our attention is distracted away from the hunger feeling. PEA acts by suppressing hunger in this way.
Consequently, AFA (blue-green algae) is efficient additive which can be taken as a part of a program for losing weight.
